Water Drops

The other day, I saw this awesome photo on Flickr of a waterdrop in a glass, and I tried to duplicate it tonight.

To do this, I needed a glass or a tub of water, a white sheet of paper behind the water, my off-camera flash to bounce off the white sheet, and a steady stream of water (see the bag of water above the glass?).

And I needed to shoot. A LOT.

After a while, I changed my white balance, and I liked the result.

I will have to try this again with a larger body of water and a lower shooting position, but I will get it right!

Yes, it's indeed 1:25 a.m. Night night,

April Competition: Old

April Competition is here! The subject of April is: Old. This can consist of old people or parts of people such as gnarled hands, old buildings with bleached wood and broken windows, old clothes in a heap on the floor, ancient cars in full or in part. There is much drama to be found in the "has been" parts of life.

You can do it! We can't wait to see your submissions.

Vote: March Nature Entries

Hi fellow photographers!

Guess what? The March Nature submissions have been entered and it's time to judge the best of all six photos. There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. Remember that it is your duty to be non-biased, and to help you, I will number the submissions, #A-F. Comment below the post to let me know which photos you vote for in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. We're counting on you!

Welcome to I've Been Framed!

The objective of I've Been Framed is to learn and exhibit new photography techniques, and showcase each other's work.

Each month we'll host photo assignments under a specific theme. March is half over, so we'll get right to it.

April's theme is "Nature".

This means that:
  • Every photo submission has to include naturally occurring objects;
  • No hand of man is allowed;
  • No domesticated plants or animals.
  • Examples of "hand of man" would include such things as wires, fences, stone paths, vases, asphalt, etc.

Each member may submit two photos in each month's photo assignment. Photos are due on the last day of the month before judging, so April's photos are due March 31st.

Judging is entirely democratic and is held by all members included, truly, honestly and without bias.

Send your submissions to InsanaC@gmail.com.

At the first judging, we'll all introduce ourselves, what we're shooting with, and what settings/techniques were used to capture each photo submitted. Come with your best work people. Good luck!
